Calibre

Cleric of the Everlasting Soul

Disclaimer: Calibre's backstory  here is not entirely canon to Luminites. This is mostly a 1-to-1 recreation of her original backstory, as she is an OC from outside of the group.

Calibre is one of three siblings who excel in the performative arts. Formerly working as the head of the dancing division, she is known for her kind heart and quiet tone. She is often seen speaking with  her closest friends, who are the scholars of her city. During certain holidays, however, she would be a part of the festival for their aclaimed god, the Everlasting Soul.

After the most recent Cleric's death, the Everlasting Soul had grown quiet. The scholars, with a much weaker link to the being, were able to confirm that he did not feel like any of the existing populous had proven themselves worthy to be Clerics. In an attempt to gain the Soul's favor, many folk decided to put on elaborate shows, displays, or offer extraoridinary gifts to him. This would go on for years, decades even. No cleric would be chosen.

As the years went on, Calibre's brother Arena would begin to drag her into his own shows, in a futile attempt to appease the god. These shows, admittedly, were more focused on Arena than the Everlasting Soul. And each passing year, the shows would get more and more ellaborate. Various bands would play, dancing groups would coordinate their moves, there would be fireworks and niche artisans, everyone who wanted to be there would be. Except the scholars, who would be disallowed from joining, much to Calibre's dismay.

While her brother called them freaks, she would tell the scholars of how these festivals would go. They were always delighted by her kind words and her willingness to share. They kept in touch, even if Arena  despised every interaction.

Years would pass, and then it happened. Whilst she joined in the fesivities, Calibre refused to join in Arena's show. She was tired of being a part of her brother's nonsense. So, he ignored her. And she sat in her corner, watching the dancers and listening to the music alone.

As the music crescendoed to its climax, another individual sat across from her. He spoke elequently, with a tired look upon his face. But his eyes glittered like twin stars, burning deep into her soul. And he gave her an offer, one she did not refuse.

In an instant all the lights the adorned the square were blown out, plunging the crowd into the darkness of night. Arena, who stood in the center of it all, turned to face the reason.

There they stood, one and the same. The Everlasting Soul leaned from behind her shoulder, and they spoke as one.

Calibre was the new Cleric of the Everlasting Soul, and his first request was to be rid of the one  who he hated so.

Now, Calibre still retains her usual life. At times, when necessary for political reasons, the Everlasting Soul would take control for a short while. However, he had no interest in interfereing with her livelyhood. Instead, they work in tandem, for the betterment of their city.
