believe me darling, the stars were made for falling

Tobey flew onwards through space for what seemed to him like an eternity. He passed hundreds, thousands, even millions of stars, planets, and other assortments of space clutter. In his travels, he passed by plenty of stars that looked to him to be on the brink of death. Perhaps they would also give way to new life in the form of a Luminite?
He paused for a moment as he spotted a strange-looking asteroid belt. Curious, he flew closer to inspect it. He gently took one of the smaller chunks in his paws. It appeared to be a vibrant red. He then let it go, tossing it out to let it float endlessly in space.
He turned his attention towards a large, yellow, ringed planet. On its surface was a red star, as in the traditional star shape. As he was about a float closer to have a better look, a powerful force sent him tumbling backward. The death of a star is not too far off. Blinding light flooded his vision. He recoiled and closed his eyes tightly. To make matters worse, in his moment of blindness, something crashed into him!
Upon finally opening his eyes, he realized this was not something, but someone. Another Luminite.
The moment their hazel brown eyes met his, Tobey felt his heart flutter and his face feel warm. This feeling, like most, was new to him, but this one, he loved it.
The two of them eventually came to a stop.
The petit brown-furred stranger in Tobey's arms blinked in bewilderment.
"..Hi?"
Tobey felt his breath get caught up in his throat. Just their voice was like music to his ears.
They drifted a little ways away from him awkwardly. Tobey opened his mouth to speak, but yet he just couldn't find the words.
The stranger took one last glance at him before darting away. Tobey yelped in surprise and gave chase. They were fast, really fast. Tobey would've lost sight of them if it weren't for the after-trail of red light they left behind in their wake. He followed them through space for what seemed like yet another eternity.

He once again felt that burning desire within his heart. Perhaps this stranger was his destiny? Only time would tell.
