Distant Dreams
Pleiades was somewhere that Pippin had called home ever since he discovered it long, long ago. I mean, how could you not fall in love with the luscious environment, beautiful sights, and bustling community?
One of the most captivating things about Pleiades, however, was its beautiful night sky. With a lack of harsh light, the stars in the sky glimmered and twinkled with alluring intensity. With the whispers of distant civilizations and Luminites waiting to be brought into this world, it felt as if the stars were speaking to him; calling him to explore the vastness of space.
And yet, despite this, Pippin remained where he sat.
Yes, adventure was something that called his name. Feeling the wind in his fur, exploring the different planets, learning about lost civilizations, meeting new Luminites - these were all things that he yearned for. He yearned for new experiences, wanting to ride the tides of life as they crashed down on him with little resistance against the current. Despite this, however, Anstar was his home. His heart was embedded in the rocky snow-capped mountains of the north, the humid forests of the south, and the temperate woods of the center.
Though he had been here for so very long, he knew that his journeys on Pleiades were far from over. Not only do countless Stellaestums and new companions still await him in the future, but Anstar’s dense groves, mountain ranges, and vast sea still left so much to be explored.
He feared that if he were to venture far from Pleiades, he might never return again. Why move on from this journey when it had barely even begun?
And so, with these thoughts in his mind, he stared up at the sky, just as he does every night. He, as always, lets his mind drift into fantasy, taking the quiet of the night as an opportunity to finally wind down from the excitement that the burning daytime star brings. Daydreaming about what worlds may be out there, he makes a single promise to himself.
One day, he thinks, one day I’ll see what else the world has to offer, but… Not yet. Not today.
