Lost Treasure (Purposeless Wandering)

A lone child–one of the few born naturally–found floating aimlessly in the debris of a long forgotten solar system. Such a sight was truly a rarity. After all, most Luminites were born already in the throes of adulthood after the collapsing of their mother star. Some, however, were different. With a special brew, two Luminites can come together and raise a young kit with their combined likeness. This child was one of these special cases. It was truly odd to see a child in this state, separated from the ones who did all they could to create him in the first place. Why go through all that trouble, just to later abandon the child? What sin could this little one have committed to be cast into the vast nothingness like this?

This is what a lone Luminite wondered as it cradled the kit in their arms, cooing soft lullabies and rocking him gently. Of course, they were beyond unprepared to take care of a life like this, especially one so dependent and fragile. But what could they do? What could they possibly do?

Months worth of roaming space finally led this Luminite to a peculiar place - an orphan planet. A planet entirely dedicated to raising the few orphan children found amongst the stars. There’s no other choice. I can’t take care of this child. I have to leave him here… I have to…

Though those cries and pleas to stay continued to haunt them throughout the night, there was nothing to be done, was there? They did what they had to. It was for the best. It was for the best.
