“Uh, sir, I’m gonna need your intergalactic passport.”
“Riiiight… It’s uh… Just give me a moment, haha~” The man ruffled around in his thick, fluffy fur, eyes squinted and tongue hanging loose as if he was furiously attempting to look for something.
“Ah, it’s right… HERE!”
With a swift motion, he slammed his paw into the face of the officer, knocking them out cold.
“Well. That was easy.”
Admittedly, the man, better known as Darao, had expected that becoming an interstellar wanted criminal would be a lot more taxing and scary than it actually was. After breaking out of the orphanage, he figured it was only a matter of time before he was caught and dragged back kicking and screaming, but it had been a long while since he escaped.
He’d begun to wonder if anyone even cared to look for him at all.
Ah, all water under the bridge. Today’s another day of my new life!

Darao had traveled only where the tides of time took him. From empty planets to bustling and thriving ones, he had made quite a reputation for himself when it came to pick-pocketing and sneaking around. After all, he had to make a living somehow - in the end, could you really blame him?
Though one thing always, no matter what, lingered in the back of his mind:
Who am I?
Throughout all this time, from his childhood to now, he found himself wondering the same question over and over again. Time and time again, he would venture to a new planet in search of his calling, just to leave as empty handed as when he arrived. It felt as if the galaxies themselves were spinning, moving, spreading, and stretching through time, leaving him in the dust in his own isolated bubble, never able to forge a path truly for him.
Most Luminites are born with some sense of purpose. After their star’s death, it’s easy to pick up the pieces of the civilization you destroyed, grow connected, and forge a sense of self from there. At least, that’s what he gathered from regular Luminites along his journey. Him, however? He didn’t even know who his parents were. He was discarded like trash time and time again with no rhyme, reason, or purpose to who he was, why he was brought into existence, and why he was tossed away.
No matter how hard he tried, he could never make sense of senselessness. Perhaps his life was as purposeless as he believed.
At least, he thought that, until he encountered the planet of X3NON-25.
