"Well, well, another trainee lookin' to get their paws dirty?"

Uriel frowns at the other Luminite's nonchalance. Jiahao, the fabled best trainer in Pleiades and hesd of the Warrior class, seemed like he was nothing more than another laid-back Diocenus native, and it made Uriel want to roll his eyes. It was typical of the people around here.

This training field only had the two of them in it today. Sounds of other distant spars carried on the wind, clashes of weapons and shouts of other training Warriors. The calls of tide-terns could be heard from above the sparse clouds as they soared overhead. The weather was partly clouded and somewhat chill, the perfect weather for sparring.

Jiahao was circling around Uriel, sizing him up with a relaxed look. Uriel wanted to bark at him, tell him to get on with it, but the look in Jiahao's eye had him pausing. Despite his outward calm demeanor, there was a keen eye on him. Jiahao hums, nodding in approval.

"Are we going to stand here all day?" Uriel snorts, quirking an eyebrow at Jiahao. He flexes his wings, stretching them out before folding them back against his sides. Uriel was getting anxious. Jiahao lets put a sharp bark of laughter.

"Eager aren't we?"

"Just don't want to stand here and waste my time." Uriel huffs.

By the time their first round of training was done, Uriel felt like his paws were going to fall off. Sweat was beading on his brow, and his tail laid limply behind him. The two of them had just went over the basics, defending and very basic attacks, but Uriel still felt like Jiahao had put him through the wringer.

Uriel was keenly aware that Jiahao had been pulling his punches, dancing around Uriel's attacks with ease while calling out solid advice. He knew what he was doing, confident even, but it did nothing to hinder Uriel's dejected seething. Even in the midst of his brooding, though, Uriel could recognize that Jiahao was an amazing teacher.

"How?" Uriel managed to wheeze how. "Just how are you that good?" The Luminite's brow was furrowed as he looked over Jiahao in earnest, the other not even winded after the lesson.

"Hmm? Well," Jiahao made a pondering look. "I think a good lesson to learn hear is to never underestimate an opponent, yeah?" His expression curled into a sly grin, a flash of something dangerous before he quickly schooled himself. "Even the most unsuspecting people can surprise you."

Uriel juat grumbled in frustration. With a flick of his tail, he turned his back on Jiahao, stomping out of the training field. Jiahao just barked out a laugh and threw a casual wave in Uriel's direction.

"Same time tomorrow~?!"
