Fruiting Chicken
Domesticated
i. Description
Fruiting chickens are compact semi-flightless birds that have been domesticated through selective breeding processes on Pleiades. They come in a variety of variants, all of which resemble different fruits that can be found on Pleiades.
A fully grown fruiting chicken has a round body covered in short, glossy feathers that emit a faint smell of fruit. In some rare cases, they may hatch out of the egg as an attached pair of cherry fruiting chickens. These fruiting chickens never reach full maturity.
ii. ecological effects
Fruiting chickens are a helpful companion in farming due to the production of pollen from their feathers. After producing pollen for about a week, fruiting chickens will shake off the excess, assisting in crop and fruit growth. This cycle stops in the cold season, where fruiting chickens take the time to rest before the blooming season begins once again.
Fruiting chickens are known to be fairly difficult to take care of, as they require specific living conditions, or else they'll fall ill or grow distressed. This means that the Luminites who raise fruiting chickens tend to be very dedicated to the art of raising them.
